Who would have thought 40 years ago Andrews Sports would have grown into what it is today. Andrews Sports was conceived by two brothers John and Richard Andrews who were simply looking for something to do in the winter months farming's quiet time.

Only they can tell you if they could have pictured the day it would grow from being a business offering a single product line and being tucked into the free space of one of their farming sheds, to having a building of more than 7500 square feet in a prime location on the outskirts of St Thomas.

But here we are 40 years later, a new shop on approximately 3 acres of land on the corner of Ron McNeil and Wellington Rd with more that 4200 square feet of show room space, big enough to display a complete cross section of BRP line up. In addition to show room space we have 3300 square feet of space devoted to service and parts dept. We have grown from 2 brothers to a complete staff of including a sales team handling new and used product. Licensed technicians always available when the shop is open and a parts team to support service dept and walk is customers. Plus the administrative dept that keeps the place running. Our product line has grown from Ski-doo in 1978, to ATV in 1999. In the spring of 2005 we began to sell Sea-doos, which lead us to offering boats in the summer of 2010
. All the while growing the parts, accessory and apparel dept to a complete BRP product line as well as many off brand products.

This kind of success doesn't just happen on its own it takes good people. John and Richard started with ideology that their reputation means more to them, then the amount of money they are able to generate. Raising three boys, farming, and trying to run a business that was constantly growing wasn't easy in the beginning it took hard work, John did just that. Farming came first in those days because it had to, but it soon became clear, a Ski-doo dealer in this location was a popular thing and moon lighting as a snowmobile wasn't going to cut it. They say you can judge a man by the thee friends he has, John has some good friends right from the beginning through to this day filling in around the shop when farming couldn't wait. Of coarse as the boy became old enough to do a job they did it, sometimes they even started them when they were almost old enough just to get a head start. Re-marrying in 1982 to Jane, she quickly became an integral part of Andrews Sports quietly doing the day-to-day things a business needs done but often goes unnoticed.

As the boys grew they developed individual personalities that accent Andrews the business differently but all focused on a common goal, Success. Not financial success but the kind of success you feel when a customer comes from a great distance to shop at Andrews Sports. Or when the guy who bought his first sled at Andrews in 1985 comes back to buy his next 8 sleds at Andrews over the next 25 years. Although they have their areas of expertise anyone of them can do any job that needs to be done. Together they work to make Andrews Sports a premier BRP dealership. Its not about sales records or making more money it is about leaving their children something to be proud of, some thing to work hard for and be loyal to the Andrews name.
